Dr Vanessa L Mayatt, BOHRF Chief Executive
With effect from 10th January 2011
Dr Mayatt brings to BOHRF a wealth of knowledge and experience gained through her varied career as a senior occupational health and safety specialist.
Dr Mayatt joined the Health and Safety Executive at the start of her career after completing a PhD in Biochemistry. For the last 16 years, she has worked as a health and safety specialist in the public and private sectors and has undertaken consulting work in a wide range of industries. She continues to operate as an independent health and safety consultant. She recently completed service as a Board Member of the Health Protection Agency and its forerunner organisation the Public Health Laboratory Service, where she chaired or was a member of various Board sub-committees.
Dr Mayatt is a Fellow of the Royal Society for Public Health and a Chartered Fellow of the Institution of Occupational Safety and Health.
Dr Mayatt is passionate about the promotion of high standards of occupational health practice and developing the underpinning evidence-base through research projects that deliver practical outcomes.
The BOHRF Trustees warmly welcome Dr Mayatt to the organisation and look forward to working with her to secure and develop the continued success of BOHRF's research programmes.
Mrs Anna McNeil, BOHRF Administration Manager
With effect from 1 January 2011
Anna will be known to many of the BOHRF contacts as she has assisted the retired Chief Executive on an ad hoc basis for some time, and has worked at the Faculty of Occupational Medicine. Anna has also organised several conferences and guideline launches throughout the UK on behalf of BOHRF through her own Event Management company. She has a wide range of organisational and personal skills which the Trustees of BOHRF are confident will contribute significantly to the success of BOHRF in the future.
Anna will be the main point of contact for telephone, email and postal communication with BOHRF, and will be operating from the following address:

Research Committee
BOHRF is advised on all grant applications by its Research Committee. Membership of the Committee comprises senior researchers in the fields of occupational health funded by BOHRF, together with senior occupational physicians
